GOVERNMENT STEPS UP SECURITY MEASURES FOR MAGISTRATES

Written by on

Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Kagiso Mmusi says efforts to improve security for magistrates is underway. This as the government is currently building boundary walls on their residentials, with the aim of further enhancing the security by installing electric fences and alarms.

When responding to parliament debates of the Magistrate Courts (Amendment) Bill yesterday, Mmusi shared that construction of boundary walls has already started in Maun, Letlhakane, Mahalapye, Bobonong and Tsabong.

He highlighted that while construction of boundary walls will take some time, the government has taken a decision to provide all the 73 magistrates in the country with 24-hour security guards.
