YOUNG PEOPLE URGED TO APPLY FOR YOUTH FUND EARLY AS NO EXTENSION WILL BE GRANTED

Written by on

Young people have been called on to submit applications for the Youth Development Fund in time, as there will be no deadline extensions.

The Ministry started receiving the applications for 2022/2023 funding from August 10th and the deadline is September 6th. The programme was introduced in 2009 as a way of improving the lives of the youth as well help fight unemployment.

The threshold for YDF financing remains at 100 000 Pula for individuals and 450 000 Pula for youth industries or co-operatives.

Minister Responsible for Youth Empowerment, Tumiso Rakgare says that the priority for funding shall be for businesses with the potential to create a higher number of jobs such as manufacturing, Agro-Tourism, Technology and Innovation. The minister speaking in parliament last week, also encouraged collaborations between young people as the threshold set for individuals may not be enough for projects.
