BIUST DISMISSES ALLEGATIONS OF CORRUPTION AND MALADMINISTRATION AT THE INSTITUTION

The Botswana International University of Science and Technology (BIUST) has dismissed allegations of corruption and maladministration leveled against the institution and its Vice Chancellor Professor, Otlogetswe Totolo by one of its employees.
BIUST Acting Director, Communications and Public Affairs, Itumeleng Mangole says the allegations were reported to the University Council in September last year and the Council Committee found them serious enough to warrant an investigation.
She highlighted that the investigations were done and completed in November of the same year, consequently clearing the University and its Vice Chancellor of any wrongdoing.
Mangole also noted that the purported efforts by BIUST to muzzle a whistle-blower, who is a Botswana Sectors of Educators Trade Union shop steward at the institution, are untrue.
Mangole was careful not to mention the latest developments on their failed litigation against the shop steward. She did however mention that further investigations are underway.
