SHORTAGES OF MAGISTRATES IN RURAL AREAS AFFECTS CASES NEGATIVELY

Written by on

Member of Parliament for Gantsi South, Motsamai Motsamai says the shortage of magistrates in rural areas compromises cases, evidence and the security of those involved in the cases such as the magistrates and witnesses. When debating the Magistrate Courts (Amendment) Bill in parliament yesterday, Motsamai argued that this is because the cases take long to conclude due to the shortage of magistrates ready to take up the cases especially in the rural areas.
