NANT BOTSWANA GROUND BREAKING CEREMONY SETS BOTSWANA ON TRACK FOR FIRST COVID-19 VACCINE MANUFACTURING COMPANY IN THE COUNTRY

Nant Botswana today opened its doors to become the first COVID-19 vaccine manufacturing company in the country. The company, which is housed at the Botswana Digital & Innovation Hub, will manufacture COVID-19 vaccines named Pula Covid Vaccine. This as the country continues with efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19 and deal with its negative impacts. Pula vaccine got approval from the Botswana Medicines Regulatory Authority and the plant is expected to start manufacturing the vaccine soon after completion. The ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by NantWorks founder Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, President Mokgweetsi Masisi, vice president Slumber Tsogwane, Minister of Health and Wellness Dr. Edwin Dikoloti and that of Tertiary Education, Research, Science and Technology, Dr. Douglas Letsholathebe.
