Personal Assistant (EQUALITY ACT 2010 SCHEDULE 9, PART 1 APPLIES)

About the Employer

The role is to support a lady living the Middlesbrough area who has a learning disability and mobility issues, the role is to enable the Service User to live more independently.

The Service User enjoys socializing and getting out and about in the community, attending social groups, going shopping and eating out

Summary of Duties

  • Support with household tasks such as cooking and cleaning.
  • Supporting out into community
  • Supporting to arrange and attend medical appointments and keep record of these.
  • Some aspects of personal care
  • Help with Medication

The Person They Are Looking For

I am looking for an individual who thrives on supporting others whilst always maintaining health and client safety.

To carry out and undertake specific and general tasks which will provide good quality of support, health, welfare and well-being.

You will be expected to adhere to a high level of hygiene at all times to ensure the service user has a clean and safe environment.

You will need to have empathy, a can-do approach, positive attitude and a good sense of humour and excellent communication skills.

Commit yourself to developing skills and knowledge as identified by you.

You should be kind, compassionate, enthusiastic, a good timekeeper, reliable and able to work well on your own and also follow instructions from your employer.

Previous experience in care is preferred but not essential.

Due to the nature of the work for which you are applying, this post is subject to a satisfactory DBS disclosure (costs will be covered).

You will be required to administer medication. (minimum age requirement)

The Times Required

5 days per week. Alternate Saturdays 9am-3pm/10am-4pm

Part-time hours: 30 per week

Salary: Β£10.42 per hour

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
