Warehouse/Till Operative

Castell Howell Foods is Wales’ leading independent food service wholesaler, servicing the length and breadth of Wales, the Border Counties and the South West of England. We currently have a vacancy for a Warehouse & Till Operative based at our Cash & Carry in Carmarthen.

The role of a Warehouse & Till Operative is to assist customers in the store, serve on the tills, maintain well stocked shelves and maintain a clean, tidy and safe environment.

Duties include:

• Replenish the warehouse as required, ensure stock is always ready for picking
• Clean and maintain the warehouse in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines
• Complete daily records and reports accurately
• Ensure customers’ orders are picked promptly and accurately
• Assist customers around the store
• Serve customers on the tills promptly and accurately
• Rotating stock and check ‘best before’ dates
• Operate a fork lift truck (if applicable)
• Assist in stock taking duties when required

Who are we looking for:

• A team player who can also work independently when required
• Someone who demonstrates attention to detail
• No previous experience is required as full training will be provided
• You should consider yourself physically fit
• Have basic literacy and numeracy skills
• Be prepared to work in a cold store at -20 (full protective equipment is provided)

What we offer:

• A full-time position contracted to 41 hours per week. Monday to Friday 08:30-17:30. In addition, 1 in 3 weeks you will work until 19:30 on Monday and Thursday + Saturday 8.30-12:30 and Sunday 09:30-12:30. You will work a 4 day week the following week.
