Role Overview & Responsibilities

Overview:

We are looking for Full and Part-time EAP tutors to join our teaching team delivering high-standard lessons to classes of up to 15 international students.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver English for Academic Purposes (EAP)

  • Provide academic support for students, as appropriate
  • Set and mark formative assessments
  • Carry out administrative and record-keeping tasks associated with teaching and assessment
  • (e.g. accurate attendance records, progress reports, schemes of work)

Salary

£28 - 40 per hour

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s degree (Essential)

  • A relevant academic qualification at UK postgraduate level e.g. a Cambridge DELTA, Trinity DipTESOL or MA TESOL (Essential)
  • Relevant teaching experience normally a minimum of two years. This experience should relate to the delivery of a Western-style syllabus using Western conventions and methodologies (Essential)
  • An understanding of UK/western higher education and the needs and requirements of
  • international students (Essential)
  • Significant teaching experience at a reputable university (Desirable)
  • Specific experience of education in the UK (Desirable)

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

Teaching:

  • · A record of achievement in teaching.
  • · Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills including native speaker
  • fluency in English. Numerate and articulate.
  • · Competence in the effective use of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT).
  • · Proven planning and organisational skills and an ability to take initiative within curriculum
  • and policy objectives.
  • · The ability to contribute to study programme development.
  • · The ability to set, review and mark formative and summative assessments
