Role Overview & Responsibilities

Key Aim of the Role:

To cover all warehouse tasks including despatch, intake, yard, packaging and the super runner role.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Corporate

· Ensure that site and pack house standards are maintained

· Ensure adherence to company health and safety rules

· Ensure that all practices and procedures in the warehouse and yard areas comply with the Quality & Food Safety Procedure

· Work effectively as part of a team

· Promote site at all times to customers and other visitors

· To effectively communicate with the management team

· To undertake any training deemed necessary to meet the needs of the business

· To work effectively as part of a team.

· Perform all duties in a professional manner

· To be flexible with holiday expectation during busy periods.

· To be flexible with hours of work and shift patterns.

Operational

· To ensure all tasks are carried out within confines of strict standard operating procedures.

· To ensure orders are picked and despatched within time constraints while maintaining quality standards.

· Notify the warehouse Supervisor of any possible problems or any concerns regarding responsibilities or staff

· To pursue on job training to reach full potential.

· Maintain a high standard of hygiene in all relevant procedures ensuring cleaning is carried out regularly, adopting a ‘clean as you go’ attitude

· Ensure fruit is stored in an orderly fashion and is easily accessible

· To move pallets using manual or powered pallet trucks or FLT’s if licence held in line with the company H&S policy within the designated areas

· To book in fruit and packaging and any other consumables onto the SAP system maintaining accuracy.

· To replenish packaging stocks in the pack house as required.

· To pick customer orders efficiently and effectively and in time for collection.

· To load and unload vehicles in line with H&S policy.

· To carry out accurate stock takes on packaging, fruit and any other consumables.

· To maintain the yard ensuring clean and tidy at all times.

· To bail cardboard and plastics using the bailers provided.

· Dump aged stock when instructed to do so.

· To actively pursue process improvements and cost saving initiatives.

· Any other reasonable request within your capabilities.

· Understand company procedures and policies.

· Understand internal and external specification.

· Maintain knowledge of customer specifications and critical control points.

· Understand fruit size bands, colours, varieties and harvest dates.

· Maintain high standard of personal hygiene.

· To carry out all aspects of basic food hygiene.

Key Performance Indicators:

· Hygiene

· Customer visits

· External/internal audits.

Dimensions of the role:

· Secondary Education

· Experience using SAP

· Knowledge using Microsoft Package – Word, Excel

· Fork Lift Truck Licence

· Experience working in a Packhouse

Knowledge & Skills­:

· Reasonable written and spoken English

· Numerate

· Other languages

· Self-motivated

· Strong attention to details

The working pattern for this role is 4 days on 4 days off, and consists of 10.5 hour days. Other benefits will include:
