Role Overview & Responsibilities

Apprentice Laboratory Technician

Waste Assess is a fast growing business looking for candidates to fulfil the positions of lab technicians. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants a career in this area and needs to develop their skills, as training is provided. Candidates will receive practical training and content through delivered modules leading to a Level 3 Laboratory Technician apprenticeship at the end of the period upon completion.

The successful candidate will have:

- a strong work ethic

- attention to detail

- able to work independently and as part of a team

- an interest in science, desirable.

- proactive approach to health and safety

- the ability to learn specific techniques and apply this practically

- excellent organizational skills (a set amount of samples need to be run everyday but occasionally high value work takes priority)

- excellent record keeping and communication skills

This role will be paid at living wage not just apprenticeship wage.

Apprenticeship

This role will include studying on the job for the gold standard Level 3 Laboratory Technician apprenticeship, which will qualify you in this role and give you eligibility to Registered Science Technician (R.Sci.Tech.) status and the opportunity to progress to L5 Science Technician standard. Salary : £11.95 per hour (Living wage, dependant on area)

Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift: 7.30AM-4PM (Mon-Fri)
