Role Overview & Responsibilities

Engineering Draughtsman (Person) required to provide a comprehensive documentation & draughting service in support of a multi-disciplined Design Engineering team.

Based in Rotherham, this is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 depending upon experience.

Proficient draughtsman (person) required to generate manufacturing drawings from models. These models have been generated in Autodesk Inventor for the purpose of design approval and require individual parts and components to be drawn to create a Bill of Materials (BOM)

The ideal candidate would have:

• Working knowledge of 2D and 3D Autodesk Inventor and/or Solidworks
• Ability to work quickly and accurately with attention to detail
• Previous Mechanical Engineering experience
• An understanding of limits & fits would be advantageous.
• Excellent organization and administration skills

The role of the Engineering Draughtsman will require the individual to undertake the following:

• Create documentation, including BOM’s, and manufacturing drawings.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Create manufacturing drawings from 3D models
• Maintain and update electronic drawings and documents
• Ensure compliance of drafting and engineering standards
• Work with other teams to obtain information for drawings
• Make corrections to drawings as requested by the senior staff
• Update database records/internal drawing library for future reference purposes

Competences Required:

• Have at least ONC level qualification in an engineering subject
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Excellent numerical skills
• Ability to produce work consistently to a high standard within tight deadlines
• Ability to prioritise and manage a diverse and busy workload.
