General Maintenance Operative (Trainee)

Role Overview & Responsibilities

Vertik-Al is a world class provider of vertical and horizontal aluminium powder coating and is currently looking to recruit a permanent General Maintenance Operative (Trainee).

Working within health and safety standards, the role involves (but is not limited to):

- Undertaking repair and maintenance activities including specific tasks within the competence.

-Facilitating the repair and maintenance of plant and machinery.

- Identifying maintenance, repairs and assisting in the planning of work with the Maintenance Engineer.

- Providing supervision and assistance for contractors in the works being carried out.

- Ensuring that all working areas are kept in a secure, clean and safe condition.

- Other duties which may include painting, decorating, tiling, plastering basic plumbing, etc.

- Minor works, alterations, refurbishments and installations as required.

- Ensuring that all equipment is securely stored and properly maintained.

- Taking responsibility for any nominated Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) work, such as emergency lighting checks, meter readings, temperature checks, drain and gutter clearances.

- Reporting issues to the Maintenance Engineer when required.

- Working from ladders, steps and scaffolds as required.

Rate: £11.42 per hour

Hours: To be discussed. 40 hrs a week.
