Role Overview & Responsibilities

VANRATH are supporting our HSCNI client based in Greater Belfast to hire multiple Health Care Assistants to work across various labs and areas of the hospital. The successful candidate will provide support and services to Consultant Medical Staff or a group of Medical Consultants, their teams and the Clinical team within an assigned Service Group.

This role will initially be ongoing with long term extension and options to progress for the right candidates.

Salary

£22k - 24K + Holiday Pay + Pension + Discount Benefits

The Ideal Person

  • Medical / Scientific background desirable
  • Experience in a hospital / medical environment
  • Experience working with patient records / data

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Mandatory & Statutory training relevant to the post.
  • Work with patient and medical information.
  • Assist nurses, doctors and medical consultants with patient care as required.
  • Provide laboratory support as required.
  • Effectively deal with telephone calls from patients, relatives, hospital staff and General Practitioners and other individuals or organisations, and resolving any problems as appropriate.
  • The post holder will be expected to participate in life-long learning, maintain awareness of current practice and attend such courses and training as may be deemed by the Service Group.
  • Update LIMS and medical / patient data and records.
  • Provide support to relevant medical teams as required.
