Role Overview & Responsibilities

The Department of Psychology is recruiting a Technician to support a specialist Neuroscience unit and associated student facing activities.

This is an exciting opportunity for a well organised individual, with a strong understanding of the application of relevant legislation, including Health and Safety. This role will support the delivery of an excellent student experience across several programmes of study, as well as supporting the acquisition of research data to contribute to the Department’s ambition for excellence in the Research Excellence Framework.
The role involves all aspects of laboratory operations including sample preparation, laboratory setup, equipment maintenance, housekeeping, purchasing, record keeping and health and safety activities. A core function of the role is to support and deliver high quality practical student research projects, skills training and provide supervision and guidance to Level 3 project and postgraduate students.
