Role Overview & Responsibilities

Passionate about delivering great customer service, you will be a confident team player who enjoys helping and interacting with people and feels satisfied when a customer leaves happy. You will be alert and mindful of the irreplaceable value of our collection and you will work to ensure no items or people come to harm. Interest in working in a visitor-focused heritage environment, as well as working knowledge of another language, is desirable.
This role involves interacting with visitors while moving around the galleries and varied working patterns and positions, which will include working alone, or in part of a team. Some manual handling is also involved. A key aspect of this role is using product knowledge to inspire our customers and maximising sale opportunities and encouraging visitor giving (donations).
This is a permanent, part-time position, working 35.04 hours per week.
Our staff and students come from all over the world, and we proudly promote a friendly and inclusive culture. Diversity is positively encouraged, through diverse groups and champions, as well as a number of family-friendly policies, such as the right to apply for flexible working and support for staff returning from periods of extended absence, for example shared parental leave.
You are required to submit a CV and a supporting evidence form with your application, outlining how you meet each of the selection criteria for the role. Please find the attached supporting evidence form below.
Only applications received online before 12.00 midday (GMT) on Friday 19 May 2023 can be considered. Interviews are expected to take place on Tuesday 13 June 2023.
