Applications are invited for a Technical Specialist to work in the laboratory of Stem Cell Biology led by Prof. Ramiro Alberio.

The purpose of this role is to manage the generation and characterisation of new stem cell lines from different mammalian species.

You will handle the day-to-day activities of the lab and will be responsible of commissioning new commercial lines.

Experience in planning and managing a laboratory is desirable, and good interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential. You will be responsible for implementing COSHH regulations, SOPs, upkeep of designated research laboratories and training students and staff.

You should have proven technical support experience, at a level which requires a minimum of supervision.

Candidates must hold a minimum HNC or equivalent, plus substantial work experience in a relevant role OR have a proven track record with extensive work experience in a relevant technical or scientific role and have the ability to work accurately and precisely.

The post is available from 1st June 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter and will be offered on a fixed-term contract for three years. Hours of work are full time (36.25 per week), including regular weekend rotas. Job share arrangements may be considered.
