Role Overview & Responsibilities

The Margate Charter Trustees are seeking a Chauffeur/Town Sergeant.

The job entails accompanying and assisting the Mayor/Deputy Mayor to Civic functions and to bear the Town Mace on ceremonial occasions.

You may be called upon to act as Toast Master. On completion of a successful probationary period of 6 months two uniforms will be provided, one for ceremonial use. It is essential the candidate have a clean driving licence and be willing to use their own car for which expenses will be paid.

Hours are flexible with most work being undertaken on evenings and at the weekend although not exclusively. A standard 15 hours per week is payable at £12.50 per hour annualised, with a contributory pension scheme.
