Role Overview & Responsibilities

Job purpose:

QAS Group Limited are a key independent supply chain provider, mainly for the spirit drinks sector. Our main service offerings are, but not limited to bottling, bottle sleeving, bonded re-work, case and carton assembly, contract packing, fulfilment, luxury and gift packing, warehousing, and transport.


Due to continued growth and investment in extending our capabilities and service offering we have the following vacancy.


The Spirit Vatting Operator will be part of the spirit operations team ensuring the smooth running of the spirit vatting operations aligned to meet daily bottling schedules within a fast-moving production environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that Health & Safety is central to all operations and machines are operated safely.
  • Ensure vatting equipment is fit for purpose and Safe Working Practices are followed.
  • Co-ordination of regauging, sampling, filtering, colour, strength and turbidity laboratory analysis.
  • Ensuring on time and to specification supply of spirit to bottling lines, adhering to strict HMRC compliance guidelines.
  • Monitor, maintain and control the holding, processing and movement of spirits within the vatting system including remnant spirit.
  • Effective planning of vat changes and washouts.
  • Ensure the highest levels of equipment hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Control equipment within vatting.
  • Safely load and unload tankers.
  • Be flexible in availability for over time working.
  • Liaise with the Management team in the day to day running of vatting and spirit preparation unit and support its Continuous Improvement approach.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience within a Spirit Vatting Supply operation is essential.
  • Experience of operating to food and drink manufacturing standards with a focus on Hygiene, Health & Safety and Quality.
  • Good knowledge of industry regulations and legislative requirements.
  • Ability to manage time and workload effectively.

Hours of Work:

38 hours per week. Monday To Friday.


Salary:

  • Β£30,000 + per annum -Depending on experience.
  • Shift Premium.
