Role Overview & Responsibilities

CARE ASSISTANT

The Hawthorns, a 22 bed residential care home in Birmingham providing care for people over 65 years old.

Ideally to cover a 3pm-10pm shift 5 days a week including weekends

Your role:

• To provide the highest levels of care and ensuring that care plans are followed
• Supporting residents with personal care, such as eating, bathing, laundry, and taking medication
• Maintaining accurate records
• Develop and maintain key relationships with residents, staff, families, and professionals
• Ensuring that Health and Safety practice is maintained to a high standard.
• Empowering service users to be fully involved in decisions and the running of their own service offering meaningful choices and opportunities.
• Ensuring that Residents are kept safe

You will need to have:

• Friendly and approachable personality and a passion for working with people.
• Previous experience and ideally a knowledge of working with older adults.
• Qualified to NVQ Level 2 or above in Health and Social Care.
• Clear enhanced DBS

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20 per week

Salary: £10.42-£10.80 per hour

• Birmingham, B16 9JH: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

• Care: 2 years (preferred)
