Role Overview & Responsibilities

1. JOB HOLDER: Machine Operator

2. LOCATION: Dartmouth Way

3. REPORTING TO: Supervisor/ AUM

4. JOB GROUP: Production

5. MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB (Why does the job exist?)

The role exists to ensure that the production and packaging machines operate efficiently and safely in line with production requirements, customer quality standards and customer order requirements with consideration and adherence to site health and safety standards.

6. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

a) To ensure that all work is carried out in a safe manner in compliance with the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and Procedures.

b) Maintain GMP on the line, for which the machine operator is responsible for.

c) Take an active role in product change over’s / start up’s.

d) Report all faults without delay to relevant manager(s) to ensure engineers are at the scene to address issues ensuring production is restarted as soon as possible.

e) To ensure that the highest standards of hygiene and housekeeping are maintained in all areas - operating a clean as you go mentality

f) Deliver a performance to ensure that company minimum standards are met and exceeded.

g) Ensure all issues encountered in production areas are reported immediately to the direct line manager.

h) To proactively support, engage and drive the continuous improvement of Company performance, challenging existing practices and actively supporting the Company’s waste reduction program.

i) To ensure that the Company is professionally represented at all times, both inside and outside the business.

j) To protect the health, safety and welfare of yourself and others at all times.

k) To respond to ad hoc requests and/or take an active role in specific projects as directed by your line manager.

l) To undertake any other reasonable duties as may from time to time be required by the Company.

7. RESPONSIBILITY FOR STAFF/EQUIPMENT/BUDGET

  • No direct responsibility for staff, budget or equipment

  • Attendance and timekeeping in line with company standard
  • Waste levels
  • NCR’s
  • Operational efficiencies
