Teacher of PE with RE (60/40)

Role Overview & Responsibilities

Sussex Teachers are working with St Wilfrid's Catholic School in Crawley to find a temporary PE teacher who can also teach RE at the school. The position is to start ASAP and will run for 4 weeks.

St Wilfrid’s has an extremely strong reputation in the community and as such, we are heavily oversubscribed with waiting lists for all year groups. They are a 5-form entry Catholic School with 831 students in Year 7-11 and 186 students in our VI Form. In September 2020 The school took 6 form groups into Year 7 and this will continue for September 2021 and beyond. The school was graded Good at their most recent OFSTED.

The students love their school and the staff love working here. In our most recent Section 48 inspection, where we were rated “Outstanding”, the inspectors commented, “in every interview, the word “community” was one of the defining characteristics of St Wilfrid’s”. Students at St Wilfrid’s make “above average” progress overall and our reputation for this is countywide. We are determined to do even better.

To be suitable for this position you must have QTS and have recent experience in teaching PE and RE in KS3 with Good references from previous schools. You will be taking on the full teacher role and will need to complete planning and preparation, as well as marking and assessment for the children you teach.
