Systems Developer (Java)

Up to £65,000 (depending on experience) + car allowance, bonus & benefits

Your purpose:

You’ll be working as a member of an Agile product delivery team helping to shape robust designs for solutions, providing story point estimates for change and iteratively delivering those changes. The team maintains a set of Azure DevOps pipelines which help us deliver some of the most exciting software in our industry.

Being responsible for systems operating across the stores and our manufacturing supply chain, this is a real opportunity to become involved in a team that makes a difference to eye health for millions of people.

Your role

• Deliver new solutions and complex changes to existing systems to an acceptable quality during regular sprints.
• Provide input into the design and development standards. Have knowledge of the standards with the objective of communicating and enforcing them.
• Be comfortable contributing ideas to enhance the specifications and systems during and post development

What you’ll bring

• Here at Specsavers we use Java & RESTful services so you’ll need to bring that experience
• You’ll have a track record of delivering application solutions on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards.
• Experience using front end tech such as Vue.JS or React
• Ability to work as part of an Agile Product Delivery team
• Knowledge of design approaches such as OOA&D, loose coupling, service-oriented architecture, database design & re-usable code.
