Role Overview & Responsibilities
- 3 Months Fixed Term contract , full time 37.5 hours/week
- Band 7 - £41,659 - £47,672 Per annum
- Location : Crawley HQ
legal obligations under Health and Safety legislation by developing, implementing, and reviewing the trust health and safety management system, policies, and procedures and by;
- Acting as the regional specialist in relation to Health and Safety regulations, policy, systems, processes, training, and resources, fulfilling the role of a competent person.
- Supporting staff to continue building a positive Health & Safety culture, proactive health and safety management, risk assessment and training.
- Facilitating regional health & safety management and practices including raising awareness and working with staff and senior managers to reduce the Trust’s exposure to all safety risks. Advising managers to ensure a safe and secure environment is provided for all staff, patients, and visitors.
- Provide expert advice, support, training, and leadership on all aspects of health and safety.
- Contribute to the department annual work plan.
- Submit regional health and safety reports to the Trust health and safety committee.
- Work with colleagues to ensure that health and safety data is triangulated with other measures to identify trends and highlight areas of concern.
- Undertake Health and Safety Audits.
- Ensure that robust systems are in place for the identification, management, investigation and learning from health and safety incidents.
- Ensure that actions are identified and undertaken to reduce the risk of health and safety related incidents occurring and to improve outcomes in relation to staff, patient, and visitor safety.
- Report RIDDOR incidents to the Health and Safety Executive.
