Role Overview & Responsibilities

We are recruiting an IT Support Engineer to join our IT Team at Scottish Rugby.

The IT Support Engineer is the first point of contact for colleagues across Scottish Rugby when they contact the IT team. With primary responsibility for monitoring the helpdesk, the Support Engineer resolves issues as they can and escalates more complex ones. The role provides on-site and remote support with first class customer service skills, ensuring an efficient and person-centered response to queries.

Work you can expect to be doing includes:

  • Monitor the IT helpdesk and resolve or escalate issues accordingly, working with service users to understand any IT issues they are having
  • Proactively identify workable solutions for queries and ticket requests both in person and face to face with service users
  • Diagnose hardware or software issues and provide assistance to provide and implement solutions
  • Monitor IT inventory and ensure records are up to date
