Freelance Science Writer - Earth, Environmental and Agricultural Sciences

Role Overview & Responsibilities

We require a freelance writer with expertise in Earth, Environmental and Agricultural Sciences (including ecology, farming, climate change, conservation and horticulture).

For each assignment, the writer will be sent several scientific papers from a particular research group. They will then be asked to write a ~1600 word accessible magazine article about the research, plus a 100–150 word biography on the principal investigator, and will be paid £80 per assignment. We will provide examples of previous articles to demonstrate the clear and concise writing style that we are seeking. Candidates must have a flair for writing, coupled with a strong academic background in physics. Candidates must be available to write approximately two articles per month.
