Role Overview & Responsibilities

Sandon Global is an award-winning manufacturer of anilox rolls and cylinders used in the flexographic, lithographic and metal decoration print industries, worldwide - www.sandonglobal.com

Reporting to the Sandon Global Engineering Manager, your role will be to work as part of a team operating a range of precision and general engineering machinery to manufacture a suite of products including mandrels and bases.

Key Tasks:

- To read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.

- To manufacture rollers and component work on various manual lathes to a high level of accuracy (Manual turning experience essential).

- To start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and make adjustments as required.

- To inspect finished work against specification drawings using mechanical instruments.

Requirements / Desirable:

- Formal qualifications within Mechanical Engineering, Machining or similar (HNC, HND, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent).

- High level of experience as a production mechanical engineer.

- High level of knowledge and understanding of measuring equipment.

- Takes pride in work and has the ability to attain a high level of completed work with accuracy each day.

- Attention to detail and ability to accurately interpret drawings.

- Works well both unsupervised and as part of a team.

- Fork Lift Truck Licence (desirable)

Further Information:

This role will be on a rotating shift pattern of lates and earlies and attracts a 20% shift premium:

Earlies – Monday – Friday (06:00 – 14.30) - 8.5 hours per day including a half hour unpaid break.

Lates – Monday – Thursday (14:00 – 23:00) -9 hours per day including a half hour unpaid break. Friday (14:00 – 18:00) - 4 hours total with no designated break.

Salary dependent on experience.
