Role Overview & Responsibilities

A challenging but rewarding opportunity has arisen to join Peter Campbell (Sales) Ltd as a CAD Engineer. PCS are Scotland’s largest independent cutting tool supplier and manufacturer based in Airdrie. We provide a comprehensive range of metal cutting tooling and tool regrind services to all major manufacturing sectors including Oil and Gas, Aerospace, Automotive and Power Generation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use 3D CAD software, SolidWorks, to produce tooling drawings tailored to our customers’ requirements.
  • Read and understand customer drawings.
  • Create 3D models of customer components.
  • Create assemblies of components and tooling in order to confirm proof of concept.
  • Work in both imperial and metric measurements.
  • Have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced customer centric business.
  • Customer relationship management experience and a strong customer service ethos.
  • A conscientious and disciplined attention to detail with the proven ability to drive and deliver profitable growth.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written.
  • An individual who will gain credibility and win respect across the organisation.
  • Confidence with a drive to challenge and develop the performance to the next level.
  • Preferred knowledge, but not essential:
  • Experience of Various machining operations including milling, turning and drilling.
  • Knowledge of engineering cutting tools and their use.
  • General understanding of thread types.

Stakeholders

  • Work closely with the external sales team, management team & wider Rubix group to maximise the development of all customer relationships.
