Role Overview & Responsibilities

Are you passionate about improving health outcomes and reducing health inequalities at Royal Papworth Hospital and across the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough (C&P) area? This post is an exciting opportunity for you to take direct action in tackling health inequalities within our system.

The NHS Long Term Plan (LTP) sets out key actions the NHS would take to strengthen its contribution to reducing healthcare inequalities. The COVID-19 pandemic has further highlighted these inequalities. A central part of responding to COVID-19 and restoring services is to increase the scale and pace of NHS action to tackle healthcare inequalities to protect those at greatest risk.

The role is fixed term and will initially focus on the implementation of the Treating Tobacco Dependency programme. The NHS LTP gives a commitment that, by the end of March 2024, all patients admitted to hospital that currently smoke cigarettes will be offered stop smoking support.

You will report to the Chief AHP and work alongside colleagues from digital, clinical areas with highest prevalence, project management and business intelligence. You will also act as a resource for health inequalities at Royal Papworth Hospital, engaging stakeholders and wider communities and services in the process. Overall a great opportunity for system working, relationship building and stakeholder management within C&P.
