Band 5 Staff Nurse

Role Overview & Responsibilities

We currently have a Band 5 Staff Nurse vacancy within Plastic Surgery Outpatients at the Royal free Hospital.

The Department consists of;

Plastic Surgery Outpatient Clinics

Nurse - led Plastic Surgery Dressings Clinics

Plastic Surgery Hand Clinics which run concurrently Monday to Friday .

A trauma clinic runs daily, seven days a week.

The successful candidate is expected to rotate between all clinics as rostered, including weekend working to cover the trauma clinic.

The post holder will be allocated to all areas within the clinic, on a rotational basis.

The main duties will include carrying out dressing procedures and wound care within the Nurse Led dressing clinics .

Previous experience in wound care and dressing procedures are important skills required for the role.

The Plastic Surgery outpatient department has an MDT approach and consists of;

Nursing Staff, Medical Staff, Hand Therapists & Clinical psychologists who all work as a team to provide a high standard of care to our patients.

• To carry out dressing procedures within nurse-led clinics.
• To assist the medical staff in the hand trauma clinic, including weekends, and carry out dressing procedures as required
• To complete audits as allocated
