Commercial Construction: Estimator

Role Overview & Responsibilities

Roof Structures Inc. is looking for an estimator. RSI is a wood framing contractor that specializes in panelized roof construction, heavy timber construction, seismic retrofits and commercial framing. We are mainly looking for an estimator with a background in wood framing to assist in pricing new projects. Our panelized roof systems involve steel bar joists and wood framing.

Responsibilities:

• Communication with joist suppliers and general contractors
• Plan review and estimating
• upload and distribution of drawings to suppliers
• Review of joist drawings submitted by steel joist suppliers
• Substitution requests for RSI and suppliers
• Addendum review
• Request For Information (RFI) and Request For Substitution (RFS) creation and management

Qualifications and Experience:

• 2 years construction experience
• Preferred experience within wood framing

Education:

• High school diploma

Program Knowledge:

• Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• takeoff tools such as On Screen Takeoff
• Adobe Acrobat PDF markups
• Online Drawings management
• Procore
• BuildingConnected
• Box
• Dropbox
