Role Overview & Responsibilities

QA Data Scientist

Up to Β£65,000 (depending on experience)

London- Hybrid

People Source is currently partnered with a London-based transportation company, looking to onboard a QA Data Scientist to join their new in-house machine learning team.

As a QA data scientist, you will have a unique opportunity to play a critical role in the ML production pipeline. You will be responsible for designing and implementing tests and developing metrics and statistical models for monitoring the performance of live production models.

You will also use generative models to create synthetic datasets for model testing and assess models based on data corruptions, drifts, and out-of-sample detection techniques.

The ideal candidate should have a background in machine learning, mathematical modeling, or statistics and be proficient in Python. Knowledge of cloud tech stack, specifically AWS solutions and Unix environment, is a plus. Experience in working with large-scale datasets and software quality assurance is also a strong advantage.

Requirements:

  • In-depth knowledge and extensive experience in a diverse range of machine learning models, including deep learning and Bayesian modeling.
  • Skilled with out-of-sample modeling methods, uncertainty modeling, and modeling for distributional shifts.
  • Familiarity with generative models.
  • Proficient in using various machine learning libraries, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Sklearn, Pandas, Scipy, Numpy, etc.
  • Expertise in Python programming.
  • Proficient in software engineering and testing techniques.
  • Skilled in technical writing.
  • Extensive experience in communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferable:

  • Academic qualification in machine learning, mathematical modeling, or statistics. Ph.D. qualification is desirable but not essential.
  • Cloud tech stack knowledge and previous experience with using AWS solutions.
  • Proficient in Unix environment.
  • Previous experience in working with large-scale datasets.
  • Previous experience in software quality assurance is a strong plus but not essential.
