Role Overview & Responsibilities

This is a part time position where you will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, whilst maintaining high shop-floor and animal welfare standards.

Cover will include both weekdays & weekends. Candidate must be flexible to provide cover for staff absence / holidays as well. Ability to cover shifts in our Ross-on-Wye store is desirable but not essential. This position matches minimum wage for the candidates age range.

- For this position retail experience is preferred, but training will be given.

- An animal management qualification or previous animal experience is a benefit, but not essential.

- I.T literacy is essential for shop systems.

The successful candidate must be willing to learn new skills as required and have a positive approach to dealing with customers.

Duties will involve:

- being a first port-of-call to customers on the shop floor, including interacting and approaching all customers and helping with enquiries

- using the till for transactions

- using your knowledge to inspire customers to try new products

- keeping the shop-floor to a high standard

- putting away deliveries

- replenishing and rotating stock

- using your knowledge to promote good pet ownership

- cleaning out and health checking in-store animals

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Salary: Up to £9.50 per hour
