About us

P. Hughes Ltd is a private farm business with arable and poultry enterprises. We pride ourselves on the highest animal welfare and bio security standards. We have a particular focus on the environment and wildlife protection and habitat creation on the farm. All of our practices are aimed at sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint.

We are looking for an Poultry Worker for our broiler farm to carry out daily tasks looking after and caring for the poultry. Poultry welfare and biosecurity are the most important part of the operation and these must be adhered to at all times.

Responsibilities:

• Working in Poultry Houses - handling chickens, laying shavings, walking sheds
• Bird Welfare
• General farm duties, site maintenance
• Some relevant paper work
• Some relevant spreadsheets and emails
• Happy and able to work as a team and alone

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Intermediate level of numeracy and literacy is essential
• Basic level of computer skills (Microsoft Office) is essential
• Own transport - essential
• Previous agricultural and poultry work is desirable
• Manual Handling training is desirable
• Rough terrain telescopic handler training is desirable

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £13.00-£16.00 per hour
