Role Overview & Responsibilities

PC Howard Ltd offers a Total Logistic Solution for the Distribution and Warehousing of palletised products. We operate over 100 vehicles and 150 trailers combined with over 250,000 sq. feet of Warehousing. PC Howard Ltd is also a Member of Palletways, the largest Pan European Pallet Network.

PC Howard are currently recruiting for a groupage transport planner to work in our busy distribution department, organising the transport of palletised goods using our fleet of curtain sided rigid vehicles across the country.

We are looking for somebody who has good organisation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt in an ever-changing high-pressure environment, working within transport legislation, including driver hour rules and weight limits, with excellent communication skills. Geographical knowledge is preferred but not essential.

Main responsibilities are;

· Efficiently creating loads fulfilling customers daily requirements, ensuring maximum vehicle utilisation whilst working to time critical deadlines and customer Service Level Agreements.

· Make sure vehicles and drivers are compliant and following road transport law at all times.

· Clear communication with drivers and customers ensuring the operation runs consistently and smoothly.

· Provide solutions to problems such as customer failures, maintaining good customer relationships.

· Briefing drivers daily and creating run sheets with delivery notes as required.

· Booking in deliveries

Working hours are 8 – 6 Monday to Friday

Salary £27500+ depending on experience.
