LIVE IN SUPPORT WORKER

Role Overview & Responsibilities

CANDIDATE MUST BE CROYDON BASED OR VERY CLOSE TO SANDERSTEAD STATION

Experienced live in Male or Female carer required - Free bedroom with all bills included

We are looking for someone who finds caring for people with mental health and all its challenges, a vocation not just a job.

You will be caring for 1 child in a children's home, you will be required to help the children in making their breakfast, lunch, dinner, laundry and daily household duties. Depending on the child that will be in the home you will have help in enrolling them in a school, activities and get involved in the community.

The child can be extremely challenging, aggressive and abusive, you must have experience in dealing with with these situations to settle the resident and get to the bottom of why they are feeling angry or upset. The Resident may sneak in alcohol into the property or try to smoke in their bedroom so you must be able to overcome these situations as per the house rules policy this is forbidden.

There will be two or three carers depending on the child you will be caring as the child has personality disorder, autism, learning disabilities and are currently going through diagnosis of other conditions that have not been confirmed.

The home has a cleaner that comes once a week but you will be required at times to clean up after the resident as they are not able to always do a hygienic clean, this could be from hoovering, mopping, assisting in changing bed sheets, re-organising bedrooms etc. The candidate would ideally be passionate about cleaning.

An ENHANCED DBS is a must!

You will be required to write care plans, write up risk assessments, fill out incident reports and send an end of day report for each resident. The ideal candidate will have great computer skills and will be advanced on Microsoft Word.

• Every weekend
• Monday to Friday

Shift:

• 12 hour shift
• Overnight shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Croydon, CR0 3RB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
