Delivery Driver

Role Overview & Responsibilities

This is a temporary to permanent role. The role would be for a minimum of 3 months with the potential of becoming a permanent role.

Part-time or full-time would be considered. Part-time would consist of a defined number of full working days. Full-time usually a minimum of 40 hours per week.

General Description: Delivering frozen meals and groceries to predominantly elderly customers and promoting our service.

Requirements:

• Excellent customer care skills whilst ensuring all deliveries are completed in a timely manner.
• Full driving licence (preferably clean)
• DBS check (we will carry this out for the successful applicant/s)
• Part uniform provided, but all drivers must have a clean & tidy appearance.
• Must be reasonably fit as there is a constant element of lifting & carrying (although not heavy) throughout the day and a reasonable amount of walking required.

Hours: Mon-Fri approx. 7.00am to 3.30/4pm. No weekend working.

Pay rate £10.50 per hour.

Holidays: We work on some bank holidays and these are added to your allowance of 20 days per annum (total 28 days) pro-rata. We close for a full week at christmas which is part of your allowance.

Duties:

• Loading frozen orders & groceries into the vans in a morning.
• Delivering orders to approx. 40 customers per day.
• Promoting our service by “door dropping” our leaflets in appropriate areas (guidance would be given) and talking confidently to any recommenders encountered e.g. carers, sheltered home managers, medical professionals.
• Assisting with warehouse duties when required.
