Interim Head of IT Operations

NxGen Recruit are currently recruiting for a Interim Head of IT Operations for a Public Sector organisation on a short term contract for 8 weeks initially but likely to extend for up to 12-14 weeks.

You will be responsible for 3 direct Support Managers across Applications, IT Service Support and Infrastructure leading a Team that has just gone through a process of change and reorganisation.

Your main role will be to:

• Provide effective assurance and governance.
• Ensure IT Delivery across service desk, desktop, infrastructure, databases and applications
• Driving a culture of continuous service improvement
• Build effective relationships across the service
• Ensure IT project delivery
• Ensure delivery against IT and digital strategy
• Be a subject matter expert for IT Operations across ITIL
• Be a leader.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Leadership experience at Head of IT or IT Operations Manager level
• Strong change management skills leading a service towards a value-led cultural change
• Strong project and programme management skills (Prince 2 or MSP ideally)
• ITIL Certification
• Delivering improvement initiatives
• Strong stakeholder management skills.

This role will be 2 days in the office in Bristol and 3 days working from home on a hybrid basis.

Day Rate: £750 - £900 per day via Umbrella Company
