Role Overview & Responsibilities

Post Title: Laser Operator

Dayshift/Backshift Rotation

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

• Apply knowledge of setting up and running a Laser cutting machine.
• Use job route cards and material nests to plan production through machine.
• Ability to fault find any issues encountered through to rectification.
• Carry out pre-start checks and maintenance on machine
• Ensure the quality of the cut meets the required specifications and tolerances by inspection of parts
• Use initiative and work without direct supervision however report immediately to line supervisor any equipment, material, project, environmental or health and safety issues that may arise.
• To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested commensurate with your skills, knowledge and ability in the interests of the Company.

KPI’s

• Meeting and satisfying Company quality requirements, standards, procedures, timescales and expectations.
• Meeting and satisfying Company HSE requirements, standards, procedures, timescales and expectations.

Health and Safety responsibilities

• Co-operate with Company in compliance with HSE legislation.
• Comply with Company HSE policy and procedures at all times
• Lead by example and promote Company HSE policy and procedures.

About you

• Experience with Trumpf Laser cutting machine preferred.
• Experience with heavy gauge material
• Reliable with good time keeping and attendance.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £12.10-£16.49 per hour

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

• Bonus scheme

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Prestwick, South Ayrshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

• Laser: 1 year (required)
