Role Overview & Responsibilities

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic nurse to join the team within the West of Scotland Regional Heart & Lung Cardiac Cath Labs Department at the Golden Jubilee National Hospital as part of the Interventional Cardiology service.

The Cath Lab Dept consists of 5 labs and 3 associated Day Wards. The Cath Labs are a busy, demanding and rewarding department in which to work, dealing with patients undergoing coronary, structural heart, adult congenital and electrophysiology procedures. In addition, we provide primary and rescue PCI for those patients with STEMI as well as in patient treatment for those with other acute coronary syndromes. This offers excellent experience and learning in dealing with these challenging acute patients and unique opportunities for learning and professional and personal development.

This vacancy demands excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Your personal qualities should include excellent organisation skills together with a positive approach and the ability to work effectively within the busy team. You should be able to demonstrate your commitment to ongoing personal and professional development and the ability to adapt to the diverse and variable demands of caring for patients within the Cath Lab Department. The successful candidates will have variable working hours and contribute to the on call cath lab rota following a period of training.

There will also be opportunities to work across the Interventional Cardiology Department within the Cardiology Wards and Coronary Care Unit.
