Role Overview & Responsibilities

The remit of this post is to support the waiting list manager with the management of the Diagnostic waiting list ensuring achievement of national and local targets set by the Scottish Government, be responsible for the safe and timely booking of the patient for the Diagnostic Procedure, which includes arranging Pre Admission clinics.

  • To provide an efficient booking service for the patient to support the patient journey.
  • To manage referrals to external hospitals providing additional capacity in line with agreed protocols.
  • Prompt and accurate input of patient details to the Diagnostic waiting lists and booking of patient
  • Ensure confirmation of booking to reduce DNA rate and maximize Out Patient theatre utilisation.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent team working skills
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity sound judgement when dealing with sensitive and confidential issues
