ITSM Solutions Architect - Home Based

Job Introduction

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has been set up to provide health security for the nation by protecting from infectious disease and external hazards. It will take action like no other organisation previously in order to mitigate threats to health before they materialise. UKHSA will be a trusted source of advice to government and to the public.

We are looking for an ITSM Solutions Architect to join our programme. The candidate must have delivering IT service management architecture and end-to-end IT solutions for a large organisation. The candidate will be responsible for providing architectural governance and technical guidance towards the implementation of an ITSM solution for UKHSA’s needs. The candidate will also shape the technical framework on which the solution is built including integration to other solutions, data definitions and other related activities. The ITSM Solutions Architect will own the design of the end-to-end solution, ensuring it meets stipulated technical requirements.

Home based with approximately 1 day a month in the office - Office Location 17 Smith Square, Westminster, London, SW1P 3JR

Main Responsibilities

• Fit into an agile delivery team and work within agile delivery principles
• Evaluate technical options, assess potential solutions and proffer recommendations to senior stakeholders/management
• Lead the and produce the end-to-end architectural design and supporting documentation of the ITSM solution, including interfaces to other solutions
• Lead the design of all user interfaces, ensuring they conform to best practices
• Take ownership of understanding the capabilities, components and libraries of the selected ITSM solution ensuring the solution is implemented according to design
• Lead the design of the underlying database/data framework ensuring the metadata used across the solution meets solution requirements
• Lead any data migration activities including loading initial data into the new solution or other migration tasks
• Liaise with the technical delivery and IT teams during the entire project life-cycle to provide technical guidance
• Any other project related tasks, delegated by the programme manager

The Ideal Candidate

Essential Criteria

• Experience in implementing on an IT/systems project/deliverable e.g. an ITSM tool, CRM solution etc. with industry best practises.
• ITSM related certification e.g. ITIL, ServiceNow etc.
• Experience in evaluating technical approaches / options and guiding senior management in selecting a suitable solution
• Experience of producing very clear and standard design documents and architecture models including proficiency in MS Visio
• Familiarity with ITSM concepts such as service catalogue, request fulfilment etc.
• Experience in defining data models/entities and the entire data framework used within a solution
• Can do attitude, critical thinker, logic driven, self-starter, adaptable, ability to deliver at pace.
