Role Overview & Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Engineers in a fast paced and fluid environment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Design, Manufacturing, Quality and Product Operations to deliver products to customers.
  • Point of contact for new product introduction.
  • Provide design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews of our products. Make recommendations to customer to improve manufacturing processes for quality and cost.
  • Use statistical process control and studies to validate process capability, establish reasonable specifications, and drive process improvements in partnership with Tooling and Manufacturing Process Engineers.
  • Identify and highlight manufacturability issues during engineering builds to ensure product quality is stable and that supply is predictable during ramp.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with semiconductor front-end manufacturing field, working with the transition of new products to production and with core mechanical manufacturing processes.
  • Experience managing a team of Development or Quality Engineers.
  • Experience with statistical process control, fixture design/qualification, cosmetic inspection metrology, and measurement correlation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in communications with customer as interface.
  • Knowledge of common semiconductor process (e.g., etching, ALD, CVD, PVD).
  • Knowledge of common surface finishing operations (e.g., plasma spray coating, plating, anodizing, polishing, lapping and sandblasting).
  • Knowledge of mechanical bonding processes (e.g., brazing, diffusion bonding, ultrasonic welding, adhesives, FSW).
  • Understanding of cosmetic quality standards; defining and measuring color, specifying and measuring surface finish, creating cosmetic defect catalogs, and establishing grading limits.
  • Ability to proactively influence the product design process by proposing improvements and associated data.
  • Japanese speaker preferred but not mandatory.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
