Health & Safety Manager

Role Overview & Responsibilities

Self Employed Health & Safety Manager to work 6 days a month covering 2 sites, Bedford and Scunthorpe.

You will ensure that the company meet the necessary legislative obligations and drive the continuous improvement of health & safety throughout the business. You will facilitate the ongoing development of health & safety policies and practices to make sure all staff are adhering to these standards. You will also provide advice, support and guidance at a management level on all matters of legal compliance regarding Health & Safety Management.

Qualifications/Experience

An industry qualification such as the NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent)

Hold or be close to obtaining Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH)

Working experience in EHS Management Systems

Manufacturing Operations experience - food industry preferable

Excellent written and verbal communication skillls

Experience in maintaining externally audited management standards such as ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001

Able to show excellent interpersonal skills, initiative, autonomy and a proactive, pragmatic approach to safety, health and environment

Experience in attending HACCP meeting

Knowledge and hands on experience of Food Safety and HACCP processes in farming or agricultural environment
