Freelance UI Designer

Job Description

The global leaders in Entertainment are looking for a Freelance UI Designer to join their internal agency from March till April 2023. ** Inside IR35 **

The award-winning agency based in Soho is structured around eight core disciplines; Brand Design, UI/UX, Motion, Video, Film, Sound, Music and Programming, the team deliver projects in collaboration with the game development and marketing/PR teams.

The team are looking for a strong UI designer with an emphasis on visual design skills to support the team on an upcoming title.

Responsibilities:

• Produce Game UI layouts, components and icons alongside the UI/UX team whilst considering the needs of the player and the client.

• Create strong cohesive visual designs, working with and building on an existing art style.
• Explore solutions that incorporate the feel and narrative of the game
• Use motion and interactive prototypes to bring ideas to life.
• Develop UI Style guides to create a consistent and strong framework

Requirements:

• An exceptional portfolio showcasing a variety of graphic design and visual communication
• Excellent eye for detail, layout, iconography and typography,
• A good understanding of game UX practices and current visual trends
• Ability to understand UX systems and provide multiple solutions to problems
• Excellent research, creative thinking and idea-generation skills
• An appetite for learning new tools and practices.
• Great communication skills and ability to articulate ideas within a team environment
• High level of proficiency and organisational skills
• Excellent people and team-working skills.

Advantageous skills:

• A keen interest in Games UI/UX
• Prior experience working with an agency or game studio creative team
• Crossover skills in Motion Graphics, illustration and 3d software.
