Role Overview & Responsibilities

We’re recruiting for an experienced People Manager to join our Employee Relations team supporting stores which includes our convenience business, based at our Support Centre in Bradford. You’ll report to the Head of People for Employee Relations (ER) and manage a team of circa 5 direct reports.

You'll partner with Heads of People, Centre of Excellence and Project Stakeholders to identify, shape and drive the strategic people agenda whilst Identifying key legislative / regulatory changes likely to impact future business. As the Senior ER Manager you’ll be tasked with making sure the business is ready for future key legislative and regulatory changes and working with various stakeholder groups to align with wider organisational plans.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across our retail business
  • You'll drive performance improvement through leading, motivating, coaching, listening and developing a team of People Managers and People specialists
  • An essential part of the role will be to identify solutions to allow the business to achieve its operational objectives in relation to employee relations, diversity, wellbeing and industrial relations
  • Provide outstanding coaching, advice and guidance to our HR Leadership team
  • You will protect the business against financial risk from employment and industrial relations litigation
  • To develop and deliver the divisional specific Employee Relations people plan focusing on the key areas of performance, engagement and leadership of all colleagues
  • You will analyse and interpret relevant people data as well as external trends to identify opportunities for improvement and simplification
  • Management of Employment claims to protect the business from financial, reputational and commercial risk
This is a hybrid role operating over a four day working week*. This role is based at our fantastic head office in Bradford. Boasting an on-site restaurant, coffee shop, convenience and sample store, prayer room, free parking and regular company-wide events and promotions. Ideally, applicants will live within a reasonable distance of our office.
