Role Overview & Responsibilities

Job Overview

To provide both MITIE and the client with professional, comprehensive engineering support and to be fully aware of the statutory and contractual requirements of the contract. To build a strong relationship with both internal and external customers to ensure that all services are provided in a timely and cost effective manner.


Main duties

  • Implement maintenance activities, ensuring maximum efficiency are achieved with minimal service downtime
  • Actively carry out PPM and reactive maintenance of the water system.
  • Comply with and implement existing business risk management procedures
  • Develop detailed knowledge and understanding of contractual requirements
  • Support, develop and communicate best working practice
  • Complete all PPM in adherence with SLA's & KPI's
  • Effective use and maintenance, site log books, O&M's and quality procedures
  • Daily flushing of water outlets and recording the temperature's
  • Pass an airside driving course to enable escorting of sub-contracting personnel.

Qualifications / Person Specification

  • Experience with similar maintenance duties.
  • Experience of Heathrow Airport preferred
  • Full UK Driving licence
  • Experience in working a variable day work in engineering tasks covering a range of locations, with the flexibility to cover additional tasks as required by the business, e.g. to cover sickness/holiday
  • Excellent customer service skills, encompassing a positive β€˜can do' attitude
  • Proactive approach in seeking out opportunities for continuous improvement and change
  • Good written, innumeracy and verbal skills
  • Ability to assess relevant information accurately
  • Planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Self-motivated with a methodical approach to work
  • Sense of pride in appearance and approach to work
  • Approachable team player, able to work with colleagues and clients alike
