Duty Manager

Role Overview & Responsibilities

We're need a smart, creative and engaging person to run our evening and weekend laser tag business. We bought the business in May 2022 and have refurbished the kitchen, the arena lighting and upgraded the laser tag equipment. We have an excellent hands-on General Manager who undertakes a lot of the refurbishment work, runs the majority of shifts and works at the same level as the team members hosting parties, cleaning and serving customers. We now need an additional manager to focus on the administrative duties such as customer emails, bookings, hygiene and cleaning records, and run the shift guiding the team to deliver excellent service.

Megazone's hours are 10-9 Wednesday, 5-9 Thursday, 1-9 Friday, 10-9 Saturdays and 10-7 Sunday. We would want you to work approximately 18-30 hours, including weekend shifts.

Experience with children is ideal, either professionally or as a parent. If you can imagine at weekends our customers arrive with a hoard of excitable children. From the moment they enter the building we need to take charge of their party so they can relax and celebrate their child's birthday while we take care of everything. Being able to relate to the parents through personal experience is highly desirable.

In the evenings, Megazone caters to teens, students and adults. Being comfortable and sociable with all age groups is an essential part of the job. We serve freshly made pizza and alcohol too, so bar & kitchen experience also highly desirable.

Experience and year-round availability is absolutely essential for this role. Please don't apply if you are still in full time education, don't live in Leicester during the holidays, or have never worked in leisure, pubs, restaurants or retail. We are looking for a capable and experienced team leader who has worked in a key holder position previously. Good written communication skills are necessary.

First aid and food hygiene training will be given.

Salary: £10.94-£12.50 per hour
