Role Overview & Responsibilities

We are looking for a Healthcare Assistant / Phelbtoomist to join our team and provide excellent patient care. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to medical staff, taking patient blood, and performing administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have a passion for healthcare and be able to work well in a fast-paced environment. The Healthcare Assistant should also be comfortable working with a variety of patients and have excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect blood samples from patients in a safe and professional manner.
  • Adhere to safety protocols when collecting and transporting specimens.
  • Maintain accurate records of collected specimens.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Communicate with patients in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Keep up-to-date on phlebotomy techniques and safety regulations.
  • Provide administrative support.
  • Responding to emails & creating patient bookings.

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Clear DBS
  • Phlebotomy certification from an accredited source
  • Phlebotomy proficiency
  • Familiar with infection control policies and procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
