Dispensing Assistant / Technician

Role Overview & Responsibilities

McKay Pharmacy is currently seeking a Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant / Technician for our branch in Newtownards, which is situated in the same building as 2 busy GP practices and with well established relationships within the local community.

You would be working alongside a talented and knowledgeable team of Pharmacists, Accuracy Checking Technicians, and Dispensing Technicians to deliver a range of commissioned pharmacy services. It is not essential that you have had previous experience in a dispensary, but it would be highly advantageous. We will be happy to consider those with the right attitude and a willingness to learn and undertake the relevant qualifications and can offer full training.

Essential Criteria:

• IT literate and familiar with Windows based computer systems
• Relevant background experience in either dispensing, stock management, retail, or other similar busy environments
• Able to deal with high volume dispensing in a busy pharmacy
• Display excellent attention to detail, with high levels of accuracy, and willing to learn

Desirable Criteria:

• Qualified in Dispensing / Pharmacy Services (or equivalent) to Level 2 or Level 3
• Experience working within a busy pharmacy and dispensary environment
• Working knowledge of McLernons Pharmacy Software System
