Would you like the opportunity to keep our hotel’s grounds and surroundings looking beautiful? Here at Manor Hotel we are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic gardener to join our team.


Our Gardener will take responsibility for general gardening duties including cutting grass, maintaining borders as well as nurturing planters and hanging baskets.


Key responsibilities for the Gardener are:

  • Assist with all aspects of garden maintenance to a high standard.
  • Keep all areas swept clean and free from litter.
  • Plant new flowers, bulbs, grass, trees, and shrub as directed.
  • Ensure the gardens are presented as attractively as possible.
  • Plan and prioritise the daily workload with the Head Gardener.
  • Maintain the lawns, flowerbeds, and gardens. Maintain tools, furniture, paths, gates, fences and walls as directed.
  • Replace and transplant trees, flowers, and shrubs as required.
  • Maintain hedges and topiary plants as required.
  • Maintain flower beds, baskets, and boxes by watering, removing weeds, trimming, and performing other maintenance.
  • Maintain lawns by mowing, edging, raking leaves, and performing other lawn maintenance.
  • Be conversant with and comply with all current health and safety regulations including the application of pesticides.
  • Operate trucks, or utility vehicles to transport equipment and supplies.


The Essential Skills:

  • Have a genuine interest in horticulture
  • Previous experience in gardening
  • Experience of handling gardening machinery


The Desirable Skills:

  • Well organised and structured in your approach
  • Ability to work both as part of a team or unsupervised
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic
